There is a big lack of activities for children in the Khao Lak area and even on Phuket Island, they are not widespread. Music projects are very good to reduce trauma and build up self-respect and confidence. It also encourages group interaction.
The Music-Mobile-Team will consist of 1 Thai and 1 Foreigner qualified music-teacher which can play at least the guitar and likes to sing. They should be able to hold drum-workshops and music-lessons for children, teenagers and adults
Drumming will help people to free their feelings and transpose them into musical action and communication. Music projects are a very good way for people, especially children, whose trauma led to a kind of autism. Music can be a communicational medium for them until they find their way back to their former skills.
They will tour to camps, schools and villages within a planned schedule. A daily report will be written.
What do they need? (1 Mobile Team)
1. 1 car with big lockable storage room. (Can be a used car, but safe to drive)
2. 8 set Congas with stand (3000 Baht each)
3. 10 sets Bongos with stand (4000 Baht each)
4. Percussion Material – 2 quiro, 20 cabasas, 20 rattle eggs, 5 Bells, 20 claves, 2 Gongs, div-Cymbals, woodblocks, “ORFF-Instruments” or comparable …
